If you're using Trainn for customer training, your customers are your learners. For partner enablement, your partners are your learners. For employee training, your employees. **How a learner is counted?** - **Videos:** Any user who watches or engages with your video. - **Guides:** Any user who clicks through or interacts with the steps of an interactive guide. - **Articles:** Any user who scrolls through and reads your article. **How learners are created?** A learner is created in Trainn in one of two ways, depending on how your content is distributed. **1. Public content** (public Knowledge Hub, public share links, embedded content) Every unique viewer who consumes your content is counted as a learner, even if they haven't registered or logged in. Trainn identifies them through their browser session, so they're counted as a unique learner but remain anonymous. > For public content, you'll see accurate learner and engagement counts, but you won't be able to attribute activity to a specific named person. **2. Private content** (private Knowledge Hub, Academy, private share links, or In-App Tutorials with User Identity configured) Every learner who is imported by an admin or who registers to your Academy, Hub or shared a private shareable link is created as an identified learner. All content they consume — videos watched, guides completed, articles read — is attributed directly to them and visible in the Learners tab. --- ### Total Views Total Views is the sum of content engagement events across videos, guides, and articles in the selected time period. **A view is counted when:** - **Videos:** A learner plays the video and watches any portion of it. - **Guides:** A learner opens the guide and advances through at least one step. - **Articles:** A learner opens the article and scrolls through it. A single learner can contribute multiple views — for example, watching three different videos counts as three views. --- #### Avg Learning Time The average time each active learner has spent consuming your content. Formula: *Total time spent across all content ÷ Number of active learners* --- ### Self-Serve Training Delivered Every minute a learner spends on your content is a minute your training or CS team didn't spend on a live call, a screen-share, or a back-and-forth email explaining the same workflow. **Self-Serve Training Delivered **shows the total hours your learners spent learning through Trainn — hours that, without Trainn, would likely have been handled 1:1 by your team. Formula: *Sum of learning time across all learners, in hours* #### Cost Avoided An estimate of the team cost saved because your learners self-served through Trainn instead of booking time with your training or CS team. Formula: *Self-Serve Training Delivered (hours) × Trainer hourly cost* **Example:** If your training team is paid $40/hr and your learners collectively spent 50 hours on Trainn content last month, that's $2,000 in trainer time your team got back to spend on higher-leverage work — account expansion, onboarding new customers, or building more content.
