### **What is an Academy?**

An Academy in Trainn is your branded learning portal—similar to platforms like Coursera or Udemy—where your learners can log in, access courses, and enroll in them. It acts as a centralized hub for delivering and managing training content.

Using Trainn’s no-code **Academy Builder**, you can easily create and customize your academy without any technical expertise. This builder lets you host, organize, and personalize your course offerings to meet your learners’ needs.

### **Academy Modes in Trainn LMS**

Trainn offers **two distinct academy modes** to support different training goals. These modes define how courses are delivered to your learners:

Catalog Mode

Ideal for external training such as customers and partners.

Learners can browse a catalog of courses and choose what to enroll in. You can also personalize the home page based on who logs in.

Assignment Mode

Best for internal training such as employee onboarding or compliance.

Courses are directly assigned to learners or groups, offering full control over course delivery.

> **Note:** Academy mode is typically configured during onboarding with your Trainn Customer Success Manager. It is highly recommended to choose one mode and stick with it, as switching modes frequently can disrupt learner experience and reporting
