**Pre-requisites**

Pin the Trainn extension in the extension bar at the right top of the browser window.

**Solution**
Pause functionality allows you to temporarily stop your recording session without ending it completely. This is useful when you need time to prepare for the next step or when unexpected interruptions occur during recording.

Once paused, click the Resume button when you're ready to continue recording. This functionality saves time by preventing you from ending the entire recording session and starting from scratch. It also eliminates the need to return to the Trainn tab when you need a brief pause.

**Steps **

1. Start your screen recording as usual
2. When you need to pause, click on the pinned **Trainn extension** icon in your browser's extension bar and select **Pause** from the menu.

3. When ready to continue your recording, click the **Trainn extension icon** again and select **Resume** to continue recording.

### **Alternate Method**

1. For recording** Chrome tab**

Click on the **View tab: ****[app.trainn.co](http://app.trainn.co)** which will navigate you to the Trainn tab where you can select **Pause**.

2. For using an **Extended monitor**

The **Pause, Finish recording, and Cancel **buttons appear on the screen where you started the recording. For example, if you record screen 1 and start the recording from screen 2, these options will display on screen 2.
