## How to Crop a Video?

You crop a video when you want to remove unwanted portions from a clip. For example, if you want to remove a left navigation bar from the recorded clip, you can use the crop feature, to crop out that section.

Note: If you want to remove or block visual from a certain section for just few clips in a video, then we recommend using the blur feature instead, as crop can change the dimensions of the clip, affecting how it sits with the rest of the video.

## Steps

1. Navigate to the **Crop** option in the video editor toolbar

2. **Select the area to keep:** Drag your pointer to select the area of the video you want to keep.

3. **Click Crop Video Frame:** Click the Crop Video Frame button to crop the selected area

> **Optional: Enable automatic 16:9 formatting:** Check the ratio option for automatic 16:9 formatting. Trainn will automatically crop the clip to fit this format.

1. **Review the cropping effects:** When you crop a clip, you keep only the selected part and remove everything else. The borders will change thickness, as cropping affects the clip's dimensions.

2. **Check the resolution:** The final size of your cropped video is tied to the resolution of the portion you keep.

> **Optional: Revert changes:** Click the revert button to return to your original settings if needed.
