You want to trim, fast-forward, slow down video tracks 2. Control narration timing and activation w.r.t the video tracks 3. Adjust filler track durations ### **Steps to Access the Timeline Editor** 1. Open a video in the Trainn editor. 2. Click **Advanced Editing** from the video editor toolbar. 3. Review the timeline below the video preview to identify available tracks: ### **Adjusting Each Track** 1. **Video/Image Track:** This track contains your visual elements like screen recordings, images, or uploaded clips. Controls for video track include:  - **Trim** : Drag the handles on either end to cut out unwanted portions. - **Fast-Forward** : Adjust the **playback speed** to speed up a section without removing content. - **Split Clip** : Use the **Split** function (click the playhead at a point and hit _Split_) to insert slides or rearrange content. **Video Playback Speed**   The track controls let you control the video, filler, and narration tracks. For video track, a default value will be shown in the field, for example 0.5. Any number you add above 0.5, will fast forward the video (the video track length will visibly reduce), and any number below will increase the duration of the video (the video track length will visibly increase). You can experiment with this setting to get more clarity. 1. **Narration Track:** Holds the voiceover audio. - Control when the narration starts in relation to the visual. - Useful for syncing your script to match screen actions or pausing before narration begins. - Click the narration track to **add delays** or adjust **duration** as needed. **Narration Playback Speed** Using the track control you can control when the narration should activate with respect to the video clip. If the narration and video track start at the same time, the default value will show as 0. If you want to delay narration activation, then add a number above zero, and keep listening to the video, to confirm whether your placement is right. 1. **Filler Track:** Auto-generated when there’s a gap between the visuals and narration. - You can **manually adjust the length** of the filler. - **Best practice** : Ensure the filler ends **when the narration ends** , so the clip doesn’t run longer than necessary. - If you trim a video clip, the filler **auto-adjusts** to fill the new gap. **Filler Playback Speed** The filler track can be increased in length, reduced or deleted using the playback speed settings. Remember that a filler track is added when the video's length is less than the narration's length. To reduce the filler track length, we recommend using the slider to trim the filler track. If you want to remove the filler track completely, go to the adjust playback speed settings, and enter 0. ### **Limitations** - The **filler track may extend** beyond your narration track, unintentionally increasing video length. To fix this: Go into each clip’s **Advanced Settings** to shorten the filler track.A good way to find this out is by **previewing the video** to look out for clips that play longer, without narration or screen activity—these often indicate extra filler duration that needs trimming.
