This video is part of Trainn's Knowledge Base, which was last updated in July. Since then, we have added a new feature to our product called Create Manuals. This feature is not available in the product UI shown in this video. If you look at Trainn's current interface, you'll notice the option to Create Manuals.
In this video, I'll show you how easy it is to update your videos during any product update by simply editing specific sections, rather than re-recording the whole video from scratch.
Start Editing the Video
What you see here are individual clips that Trainn has generated based on each and every click and interaction you made on your product while screen recording. This clip-by-clip editor makes it really easy to identify the right clip that you want to edit out or modify.
Identify the Clip That Needs Updating
Here's the clip that needs updating. All you need to do is re-record the same workflow with your new interface and replace the old clip with the new one.
Re-record the Clip
To do that, click on the plus icon below the clip you want to update to open the recording options. Here you can choose how you wish to record the new clip. I am going to choose Record Screen. Set up the required automations and then share your screen to record.
Update the Clip
This is the new clip that I recorded. You can either add new voiceovers to the updated clip or, like I'm doing, reuse the same voiceovers from the previous clip and apply them to the new one. I prefer this method as it's easier and more efficient.
Delete the Old Clip
Now since we have updated the clip with the new product UI, let's delete the old clip.
Edit the New Clip
If you need to edit the clip you just recorded, whether it's because you recorded more than necessary or the next clip involves a different action that doesn't align with the current one, you can make these adjustments in the Advanced Editing menu. Here you can adjust the narration tracks, the video track as required, and Trane will add suitable fillers to make sure your video is smooth.
Publish the Updated Video
Now let's have a look at the published video. As you can see, the video is now updated with the product's new interface while making sure the rest of the video is not affected.
