In this guide, we will explore how to assign courses to individual learners and learner groups using Academy Builder. This process is essential when your academy is set to assignment mode.
The homepage settings allow you to configure the course page where learners land upon logging into your training academy. In catalog mode, the homepage design remains constant, but the courses displayed will vary based on the user.
Access the individual learner's portal.
Scroll down to find the Course Assignments section.
Click on Assign to allocate courses to the learner.
Once assigned, the course will appear in the learner's portal, and they will receive an email notification.
Note: The course will only appear under Course Enrollments if the learner enrolls in it.
Learner groups allow you to organize learners based on shared learning or training needs. Follow these steps to create and assign courses to a learner group:
Create a learner group. You can choose between a static or dynamic group. For this example, we'll create a dynamic group.
Assume you are creating a group for the marketing team within your organization.
Set conditions to automatically assign courses to existing marketing department learners and auto-enroll new members upon registration.
Assign the Content Authoring course to the marketing learners.
Marketing employees will see only the courses assigned to them when they log into the academy.
If no course is assigned to a learner, they will not see any courses.
In assignment mode, ensure to either create a learner group and assign courses or assign them directly through the Learners tab.
If you prefer offering a catalog of courses for learners to explore, consider using the assignment mode.
