How to Add and Edit Spotlight(s)?

The spotlight effect highlights important click actions within your video clip to direct viewer attention to crucial actions or information.

Method 1: Auto-Apply Spotlights Using Automation

Auto-apply spotlight is available only for the Autogenerate AI Voiceovers and the Add Audio Later options. For the Convert My Voice into AI Voice, and Use My Voice options, you can only manually add spotlights using Method 2.

Steps:

  1. Click Create > Create Video.

  2. Select either Autogenerate AI Voiceovers or Add Audio Later mode in your voice settings.

  3. Navigate to the right side of your screen, and select the Auto-Apply spotlight check box under the automation tab.

  4. Share screen and record your chrome tab.

Outcome: Trainn will generate a video with spotlights added to highlight your click actions recorded.

Note: Share Chrome tab for best results. If you need to record a video for desktop application, write to support@trainn.co. Do not use "Share Entire Screen" as spotlights may not be captured correctly in this setting.

Method 2: Manually Add/Edit Spotlights

This setting is applicable for manually adding a spotlight from scratch, or even editing the spotlights generated by Trainn’s automation.

Steps:

  1. Once your video is generated, click Edit Video to enter the video editor window.

  2. Select the clip where you want to add a spotlight.

  3. Navigate to the right side of your editor to find the Spotlight option from your video editor toolbar.

  4. Click Add Spotlight.

  5. Enter the start and end timestamps to set the spotlight duration for the clip. You can also use the draggable spotlight timeline to do the same.

Note: Spotlight 1 denotes the first spotlight you apply to a clip. You can add multiple spotlights within the same clip.

  1. To adjust the position of your spotlight or move the spotlights position, click Adjust Position, to drag and position the spotlight within the clip.

Add Multiple Spotlights

In Trainn you can add more than one spotlight within the same clip, to draw attention to different areas. This setting is only available while editing a video.

To add multiple spotlights:

  1. Click Add Spotlight under Spotlight 1, to add Spotlight 2, and follow the same procedure to add more spotlights.

Adjusting Spotlight Timing

Adjust object timing using:

  1. Timestamp Player: Add start and end timestamps in the timeline player manually.

  2. Draggable Timeline: Drag and move each object's timeline. This method helps align your objects with your voiceovers and on-screen actions.

Note: The draggable editor activates only after you set the timestamps for a spotlight, and click save. Only if this step is followed, can you adjust the spotlight position.
