How to Add Voiceovers After Recording Video?

Note: In Trainn, you can choose your preferred mode of voiceover generation before recording a video. This guide explains how to first record your video and then later add voiceovers using the "Add Voice Later" option. 

The Add Audio Later option lets you record your product walkthroughs first and add voiceovers to the clips generated by Trainn afterward. This feature is ideal for creators who want complete control over video creation and voiceover generation.

Key Features

Trainn offers three flexible methods to add professional-quality voiceovers to your videos:

1. Text to Speech: Type your script into Trainn's text to speech editing window to transform your text into clear, natural-sounding audio narrations.

2. Record Own Voice: Record your own voice to provide authentic, personalized verbal instructions directly within the platform.

3. Upload Audio: Upload an audio recording to your videos.

Note: Trainn captures each click and interaction during screen recording as a separate clip, automatically segmenting your video into manageable sections. This makes adding voiceovers simple—just watch each 5-10 second clip and record commentary specifically for that action or type out voiceover scripts.

Steps

Recording a video

1. Click Create > Create video

2. Select Record Screen

3. Select the fourth option under voice settings named Add Voice Later

4. On the right side of your screen, select the required video automations (zooms and spotlights) to enable Trainn to add visual effects automatically to your video

Note: If you disable Zooms and spotlights, you will be given the option to "Disable Clip splitting", use this mode if you do not need Trainn to split the entire video into clips. This way your entire recording remains as one uninterrupted clip rather than being automatically divided into separate clips. Users typically choose this option when they prefer to manually edit and split their content during post-production, giving them complete control over how their final video is structured.

5. When you're ready to record your video, select Share Screen and Record

6. Select the appropriate Chrome tab to be recorded

Note: We recommend making all your screen recordings through Chrome tab for perfect video creation, as Trainn is optimized for tab-based recordings. If you need to record a desktop application, write to us at support@trainn.co and we will enable our desktop client.

Adding Voiceovers

You can add voiceovers to your video after generation in two ways:

Way 1: Text to Speech

You can add voiceovers that perfectly explain the clip actions. This feature is best used to add voiceover scripts that are approved your marketing or PR teams.

Way 2: Record Your Own Voice

1. Switch from the default "Text to Speech" mode to "Own Voice" using the drop-down menu

2. Record your voice narrations

3. Trainn will automatically transcribe them, and the narrations in your voice will be added to the clip

Note: These transcribed voiceover scripts in the "Own Voice" mode are only for reference. They cannot be edited, as editing the scripts will not change your recorded audio.

Editing and Publishing

7. Review the clips and voiceovers generated with each clip

8. Click Preview & Publish > Publish to finalize your video
